Visitation Team

The Visitation Team presently serves more than sixty members who are residents of local nursing, rebabilitation, or assisted living homes or who are either short-term or longer term shut-ins in their own homes, or homes of relatives. Sixteen members serve on the Visitation Team and visit the shut-in members to ensure that they remain connected to FBC. From time to time visits are made by phone, or a card of encouragement is mailed to them. When personal visits are made, floral arrange-ments are presented to the shut-ins. Often, those placing flower arrangements in the worship services will present them to the  Senior Adult Ministry after Sunday services.  The large flower arrangements are carefully broken down into several smaller ones and carried to the shut-in members. Sometimes errands are run for them.

Prayers for the shut-ins are made and they are asked if anything is needed that might be provided by FBC. Often, vases that have been used for previously provided flower arrangements are picked up and recycled. Sometimes books, magazines, or devotional materials are also taken to these shut-in Members.

The Visitation Team is presently into the second year of visits and have also added to their personal visits telephone calls and cards of encouragement to the shut-in members. The Team counts it a privilege to be able to visit, and individual members of the Team have shared that they have been so blessed by those they've visited.
