Parent-Child Dedication

Parent-Child Dedication is a special time set aside to acknowledge the commitment that First Baptist Church and a family makes together as those parents dedicate themselves to raising and nurturing their children in a Christian home.

Parents first attend a pre-dedication Parents' Class which is held on a Wednesday evening. This time of orientation prepares the parents for understanding the spiritual significance of the dedication and prepares participants for participation in the Sunday worship service . Parents are also informed of programs and policies related to preschool and children’s ministry and offered a tour of the children’s building, KidzPlace. After they participate in the pre-dedication class, parents then take part in the public dedication ceremony.

Parent Dedication services are held approximately every two months on the Sunday following the orientation session during either the 8:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. worship services.
